New extended hours on Saturdays at the Côte Saint-Luc Public Library starting May 1, 2018

Extended hours at the library

The Côte Saint-Luc Public Library will be staying open until 10pm on Saturdays starting May 1, 2018.

With this change, the Côte Saint-Luc Public Library will be open six days a week (Monday to Thursday, plus Saturday and Sunday) from 10am to 10pm, and Fridays from 10am to 6pm.

“By extending the hours on Saturday night, we  are offering more access to arts and culture for the community,” Mayor Mitchell Brownstein said. “Students need the space to study for exams, and families enjoy coming here as a fun and inexpensive activity. We will also be able to offer additional free activities like family movie night on some summer weekends.”

Councillor David Tordjman, who is the council member responsible for the library, says libraries are a community gathering place.

“Libraries aren’t just as a place to borrow books or movies, but they have become what’s called the third place – that is, a meeting place for a community,” Councillor Tordjman said. “We are very lucky to have this gem and we want to make sure as many people as possible have a chance to use it.”

The Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library is located at 5851 Cavendish Blvd. For more information, call the library at 514-485-6900 or visit www.csllibrary.org.
