Bricklayer – Mason / Cement Finisher (Auxiliary)

The city of Côte Saint-Luc is a dynamic municipality on the island of Montreal with a population of approximately 33 000. The city prides itself on providing the highest level of services to its residents at a reasonable cost. We are currently looking to hire a Bricklayer – Mason / Cement Finisher (Auxiliary), Public Works Department. 

 

Role:

Works involving the construction, repairing and restoring of brick work, natural or artificial stones, cement or glass blocks and other materials of the same nature.  The repairing and restoring of cement, concrete, reinforced concrete.

The work is performed under general supervision. The employee receives it in the form of written and verbal instructions and occasionally by way of plans or diagrams.  He is mainly responsible for carrying out, according to the rules of the trade, works of masonry and cement, and sees also to the casting of various forms.

 

Qualifications and education:

Have a related professional degree in bricklaying / masonry or a valid certificate of qualification (Attach the proof)

Have a Class 5 Driver's License (Attach the proof)

Have a few years of experience relevant to the job

Have a good knowledge of French and English, spoken and written

Have a good knowledge of the safety measures to be observed

Have a good knowledge of the techniques, practices and tools of the trade

Ability to use tools and perform work according to the rules of the trade

General Health and Safety Course delivered by ASP Construction or APSAM (Attach the proof)

Have a class 3 driver's license (An asset - Attach proof)

 

Salary and benefits: According to the collective agreement the salary is 32.43$/h.

 

Schedule: According to the collective agreement, Monday to Thursday from 6:45 to 15:00 and Friday from 6:45 to 11:45, 38 hours a week
