The city of Côte Saint-Luc is a dynamic municipality on the island of Montreal with a population of approximately 33 000. The city prides itself on providing the highest level of services to its residents at a reasonable cost.

Children’s Services Coordinator

Role: Under the responsibility of a manager, you plan, develop and animate programs for children, especially early literacy programs. You visit schools and daycares in the community, and offer support in various activities necessary for the proper functioning of the library.


Key responsibilities:

Help supervise the daily operation of the children's library to ensure delivery of the highest quality service

Assist children and parents in use of the library and its resources

Provide reference services at the adult point of service

Prepare activities for class or group visits as needed

Maintain the children’s portion of the library’s website

Provide outreach services to schools, daycares and preschools, and other community organizations and agencies that serve children and their caregivers

Plan, prepare and animate programs for babies, toddlers and children

Select books and other materials suitable for children

Perform any other related task


Qualifications and education:

Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies

Knowledge of current trends in library service to children

Knowledge of materials for children, in both English and French

Ability to supervise

Must be self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative and independent judgment

Must be able to multitask and handle stressful situations

Must have required computer skills

Bilingual English / French, spoken and written


Salary and benefits:

As per the management policies and procedures manual.



Sunday 2-10pm, Tuesday & Wednesday 9-5pm, Monday & Thursday 10-6pm

The employee will also be required to work outside normal hours during special events or other activities necessary for the proper functioning of the department.
