Inauguration of Elie Wiesel Park on November 3, 2017 at 10 am

On November 3, 2017 at 10 am the City of Côte Saint-Luc will be inaugurating Elie Wiesel Park and unveil the park sign. The park is located at the corner of Cavendish Blvd. and Kildare Rd. 

This new park includes 11 trees, pedestrian paths, lamp standards and 10 park benches.  

Born on September 30, 1928, in Sighet, Romania, Wiesel pursued Jewish religious studies before his family was forced into Nazi death camps during the Second World War. Wiesel survived, and later wrote the internationally acclaimed memoir Night. He also penned many books and became an activist, orator and teacher, speaking out against persecution and injustice across the globe. Wiesel won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. He died on July 2, 2016 at the age of 87.

Many community leaders will be present and everyone is invited everyone to attend.
