COVID-19: Message from Mayor Mitchell Brownstein for those returning from abroad

If you have just returned to the city from Florida—or anywhere else—you must stay home for 14 days. This means not leaving your condo or apartment unit or your home.

Over the past few days, I have received emails and calls from residents who say that some returnees are not staying at home. This is unacceptable behaviour. Anyone acting this way is putting others in danger.

If you need groceries or medications, you can call stores to get those things delivered. We’re compiling a list at CoteSaintLuc.org/coronavirus of the places that deliver. Use these delivery services. But do not go shopping. Stay at home. If you don’t have access to the Internet, call the library and they will give you the information.  The library phone number is 514-485-6900.

I want to thank the many snowbirds and others who are staying home. Your city, your province, and your country appreciate this. You’re doing the right thing.

Finally, to everyone else in Côte Saint-Luc, hang in there. If at all possible work from home, do not visit your parents or grandparents, rather call by phone or interact by video conference. There are so many teams around the world working on new vaccines, and testing existing treatments to help anyone who gets sick. Until then, we need to be smart and be safe.
