Dogs in Côte Saint-Luc

On June 20, 2018, new rules come into effect in Côte Saint-Luc related to dogs. Read By-law 2508 (PDF). Here is a summary of the key provisions.

Responsibilities of guardians

  • Purchase a license that must be worn by the dog

  • Keep dogs on leash when on the public domain (street, sidewalk, park, green space, etc.)

  • Pick up their dog's droppings

  • Ensure the welfare of the dog

Dogs in parks

Dogs are allowed in some parks (see the list below) with the following provisions:

  • Dogs are not allowed within 9 meters of a playground or splash pad

  • Dogs are not allowed in public pool, wading pool, on any sports field or in Veterans Park

Dog Run

We have two dog runs in the city, one on Mackle Road near Caldwell and the other on Côte Saint-Luc Road near Sheraton Drive en route to Meadowbrook Golf Course.
