A record 431 residents took part in Côte Saint-Luc’s Big Drop-Off on August 30, 2026, the highest participation ever recorded in Côte Saint-Luc.
The event gave residents a convenient local option for safely disposing of materials that should not be placed in regular garbage or recycling. During the day, 257 residents used the document shredding service, 238 dropped off electronics and 162 brought household hazardous waste. Some residents used more than one service.
The strong turnout comes as the City continues to preserve a convenient local disposal option. Earlier in 2026, the City of Montreal announced that it would no longer organize annual household hazardous waste collection events in individual municipalities and would instead direct residents to designated ecocentres. Côte Saint-Luc decided to continue organizing its own annual event so residents could dispose of household hazardous waste and electronics and securely shred documents.
Residents can also drop off your HHW at in any Écocentre year round. The closest one is the Écocentre Côte-des-Neiges (6925 Côte-des-Neiges Rd.). Please call 514-872-0384 to inquire about opening hours. Proof of residency and photo ID are required.
