On October 6, 2025, the Saint-Laurent–Mount Royal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCSL-MR), in collaboration with L’Alliance Cavendish Affaires, hosted a briefing focused on two major urban development projects: the Namur–Hippodrome District and the Cavendish Boulevard urban connection.
The event helped put the long-delayed Cavendish extension project in front of the news media allowed candidates in the City of Montreal municipal election to clarify their positions.
The event featured presentations by Councillor Dida Berku and traffic expert Rick Leckner. Other speakers included Mayor Alan DeSousa of Saint-Laurent, Mayor Mitchell Brownstein of Côte Saint-Luc, Mayor Peter Malouf of the Town of Mount Royal, Kelvin Mo of CCSL-MR, Montreal mayoral candidate Jean-François Kacou, Borough of Saint-Laurent mayoral candidate Olivier Labrèche, Borough of CDN-NDG mayoral candidate and current city councillor Stephanie Valenzuela.
The event succeeded in prompting candidates to go on the record, offering clarity and transparency ahead of the upcoming Montreal municipal elections. Attendees also benefited from a Q&A session.
