The Côte Saint-Luc Business of the Month for September 2026 is CSL Martial Arts, a dojo located at Quartier Cavendish (5800 Cavendish Blvd.). Shotokan karate is one of the disciplines taught here.
The club’s chief instructor, Stacy Ungar (6th Dan JKA), has been teaching traditional Shotokan karate to children and adults since 1991. Sensei Stacy is well-known for his aptitude for teaching kids, having taught karate at several summer camps, elementary schools, and daycares in the Côte Saint-Luc area. Of course, both children and adult classes are offered at the CSL dojo.
“I have three children who attend karate there and Sensei Stacy is guiding them not only through their karate journey, but he imparts knowledge, wisdom, confidence and a wealth of other qualities that they can apply in their daily lives,” said parent Layla Callaghan, who submitted the nomination. “Every time we leave the dojo we are richer than when we arrived.”
