The City of Côte Saint-Luc, via its Local Commerce Committee, is pleased to announce that Peter Lipari from the IGA at the Côte St. Luc Shopping Centre is being recognized as the October 2023 Spotlight on Local Merchants.
Mr. Lipari has been associated with this grocery store since 1994. In 2015 he assumed ownership. He has a total of 140 employees. “I am very proud of how much pride our staff takes in serving the community,” he says.
Mr. Lipari is very present at his store and can always be seen walking through the aisles and bantering with customers. It is one of the many reasons he has such a loyal clientele. During the COVID-19 pandemic he worked with the Nellie Philanthropy Foundation. David Lisbona, Councillor Mitch Kujavsky, his sister Pam Kujavsky, and Melissa Margles spearheaded a group of about 200 volunteers who packed and delivered orders to seniors. Mr. Lipari let them stay after hours and before opening in the morning to complete the task.
When the city organizes an event, such as the annual Golf Classic benefitting residents in need of financial assistance for Recreation programs, Mr. Lipari steps up to provide support.
