Resurfacing Roads and Sidewalks
Responding to the need for better road infrastructure, Council has adopted Loan By-Law 2658 to invest $3,027,000 into the city streets. This funding covers professional fees and construction costs for the resurfacing of roads and the repair of sidewalks at various locations throughout the territory. Rehabilitating the Côte Saint-Luc Road Underpass
Council is taking proactive steps to maintain critical infrastructure by adopting Loan By-Law 2659. This by-law authorizes a loan of $767,000 specifically to finance the professional fees required for the rehabilitation of the underpass located on Côte Saint-Luc Road. This is the first step in the eventual rehabilitation of the underpass, which is expected to cost about $15 million, with the cities of Montreal and Côte Saint-Luc splitting the costs. (Video)
Modernizing Traffic and Street Lights
To improve visibility and traffic management, Council adopted Loan By-Law 2660, authorizing an expenditure of $966,000. This investment is dedicated to the purchase and installation of traffic lights, conduits, and electrical wiring for streetlights at various locations across the territory, upgrading the electrical infrastructure that keeps our streets lit and traffic flowing. Restoring Municipal Buildings
Council has authorized Loan By-Law 2661 to invest $1,220,000 in the maintenance of essential municipal facilities. This funding targets building envelope restoration at the Public Works Garage on Mackle Road and the replacement of a portion of the roof at the Recreation Centre on Parkhaven Avenue, ensuring these assets remain in good condition for public use and city operations. Renovating the Greenhouse Study Area at the Public Library
The City is enhancing the environment at the Public Library by adopting Loan By-Law 2664 for renovations to the greenhouse study area. This project, valued at $78,700, will be financed entirely by repurposing available balances from previous completed by-laws, allowing the City to upgrade this unique community space without incurring new long-term debt. Upgrading the Public Security Fleet
To ensure our emergency services are reliable, Council adopted Loan By-Law 2665 to purchase a new vehicle for Public Security. The City will utilize $115,000 in available funds from previous by-laws to acquire an SUV, which is specifically intended to replace the existing Emergency Medical Services (EMS) ambulance, thereby maintaining a responsive fleet for resident safety. New Marriage Officiants
Residents now have more options for civil marriage ceremonies within the City. Council has passed a resolution authorizing Mayor David Tordjman and Councillor Jamie Fabian to officiate and solemnize marriages within the territory of Côte Saint-Luc, adding a personal and local touch to these significant life events.
