CSLA’s Arianna Hunsicker Wins Bronze at Toyota World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore

Côte Saint-Luc Aquatics (CSLA) proudly celebrates swimmer Arianna Hunsicker, who captured a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle (S10) at the Toyota World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore on September 21. This marks a significant milestone for Hunsicker, who is competing in her third world championships and continues to demonstrate resilience and determination on the international stage.

Hunsicker, 22, joined CSLA in November 2024 after a brief break from competitive swimming following her appearance at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Training under CSLA coach Michael Calcutt, she embraced a new team environment that reignited her passion for the sport.

The Singapore championships, running from September 20 to 27, feature more than 600 athletes from more than 60 nations in the first-ever edition of the event held in Asia. Hunsicker is competing in three individual events in the highly competitive S10 class:

  • 50m Freestyle – Bronze Medal
  • 100m Prelims – Thursday, 11:08pm ET
  • 100m Finals – Saturday, 7:21am ET

Fans can watch the action live on CBC Sports (cbcsports.ca and CBC Gem) and Radio-Canada Sports (Tou.tv).

Hunsicker’s journey reflects perseverance and renewed enthusiasm. After earning five bronze medals at the 2019 Parapan American Games and competing at two previous world championships (Madeira 2022, Manchester 2023), she now adds her first world championship podium finish to her growing list of achievements.
