Drivers can now plug in faster and more conveniently at the Bernard Lang Civic Centre. Today, six new electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations were officially launched at the Civic Centre parking lot (5801 Cavendish Blvd.), increasing the total number of public charging points on site from two to eight.
This major upgrade was completed in partnership with Hydro-Québec, which fully funded the project, covering 100% of the costs related to the purchase, installation, and supporting infrastructure.
The new Level-3 Terra 184 fast chargers significantly reduce charging times, allowing compatible electric vehicles to reach a full charge in as little as 45 minutes. The installation includes three double fast-charging stations, high-capacity electrical cabinets, and all required construction and electrical work.
Valued at approximately $500,000, the project represents a significant investment in sustainable transportation and supports the growing number of electric vehicle users in the community.
With these new fast chargers now operational, residents and visitors alike will benefit from faster, more accessible EV charging—another step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.
