Following the counting of votes for the position of mayor on November 2, 2025, David Tordjman received 4,196 votes and Mitchell Brownstein received 4,195 votes. In addition, 229 ballots were rejected.
According to Quebec election rules, within the four days following the addition of the votes, an application for a judicial recount may be filed with the Court of Quebec. As has been reported in the media, one of the campaigns says it plans on filing an application for judicial review. If the Court grants the application, a judge will oversee a recount of the votes.
Until the judicial recount is completed, the current mayor continues to serve in that capacity. When the judicial recount is finalized by the judge, the Returning Officer will proclaim as mayor the candidate who received the most votes.
