On Sunday, August 24, 2025, we welcomed federal Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree and RCMP Deputy Commissioner Bryan Larkin to Côte Saint-Luc, where they met with members of the Côte Saint-Luc Council, MP Anthony Housefather, MNA Elisabeth Prass, representatives of Federation CJA and its constituent organizations, as CIJA.
Our community continues to be concerned by the safety of residents participating in community life. Mayor Mitchell Brownstein accompanied Minister Anandasangaree and Deputy Commissioner Larkin to Congregation Beth Israel Beth Aaron, the synagogue where incendiary devices were left last year, which was also behind the mayor’s home.
The City hopes that these meetings help federal officials better understand the realities on the ground and the grave concerns of the community.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped organize and contribute to this important day, including Eta Yudin from CIJA, Jonathan Kuczer from Federation CJA, Rabbi Reuben Poupko of Beth Israel Beth Aaron, and Member of Parliament Anthony Housefather.
