Hydro-Québec Preparatory Work in Côte Saint-Luc (November 24 to 28)

This post is archived and may contain outdated information.

Hydro-Québec has informed the City that it will be conducting preparatory work in our area from November 24 to 28. This work is part of a larger project planned for 2026, which will involve dismantling and relocating high-voltage transmission cables and pylons further back into the CP rail yards.

The pylons scheduled for future dismantling are located behind the Hydro-Québec substation, as well as behind the townhouses along Merrimac Road, behind the buildings on Marc Chagall Avenue, behind the homes on Brandeis Avenue, and behind the homes on Krieghoff Avenue. To prepare for this larger project, Hydro-Québec will now be removing vegetation on its properties and within its rights-of-way, including cedar hedges and trees.

Key information:

  1. No power outages are expected during this work.
  2. Work will take place Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., in accordance with municipal regulations.
  3. Some private parking areas may be temporarily closed to allow access for crews and equipment.

The City will continue to monitor this file closely and will share more details about the major 2026 project as information becomes available.
