Côte Saint-Luc Public Library Unveils 2024 Annual Report Highlighting Innovation, Inclusion, and Community Engagement

The Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library has released its 2024 Annual Report, presenting a portrait of a library that continues to innovate, serve, and inspire. With over 230,000 items borrowed, 10,000 program attendees, and a record-breaking service score from the province, the library remains at the heart of civic life.

The past year saw the library strengthen core services and launch new initiatives for children, teens, seniors, and lifelong learners. It also upgraded spaces and technology access, which illustrates that the library that is responsive, forward-thinking, and community-driven.

Five Highlights from the 2024 Annual Report:

Highest-Ever Service Score: The library earned a 96% service rating from the Association des bibliothèques publiques du Québec—well above the provincial average.

Community Outreach at Its Best: Over 5,100 “care calls” were made to isolated seniors, 8,400 items were delivered through Home Library Service, and at-home tech help ensured digital inclusion for older adults.

Vibrant Teen and STEAM Programming: Teens joined new creative initiatives including Dungeons & Dragons and photography workshops, while STEAM activities like marble runs, slime-making, and LEGO Club engaged over 300 children.

Modernized Facilities: Two new soundproof Mute Boxes and a redesigned Reference Area were added, offering flexible, quiet, and accessible spaces—enhanced by generous donations and thoughtful design.

Record Attendance and Cultural Programming: The library welcomed over 91,000 visitors and hosted a wide array of concerts, lectures, author events, and art exhibits, including Côte Saint-Luc Reads and a Holocaust Remembrance Day film screening.

Other noteworthy moments include the launch of a dyslexia-friendly collection, the first Young Writers’ Contest Awards Ceremony, and outreach partnerships with McGill’s Trottier Space Institute, the Jewish Public Library, and LogisAction.
