Street hockey fans now have a place of their own: the City of Côte Saint-Luc has just opened a brand-new outdoor playing surface at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Park. The new rink was created by converting part of the rear parking lot near Stephen Leacock Avenue into an approximately 500-square-metre playing surface. The facility is intended for both drop-in street hockey and ball hockey use and organized programming.
The project addresses a gap created when the Sports Annex was converted into pickleball courts for the summer. Residents had previously used the Sports Annex for summer hockey. With that space no longer available for the sport during the warmer months the City carved out a new space. Construction began on June 1, 2026. The work included resurfacing, new lighting, installation of permanent boards as well as safeguard netting.
