City of Côte Saint-Luc to Hold Philippine Flag Raising Ceremony on June 12

The City of Côte Saint-Luc will hold a Philippine Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, June 12 at 4pm in front of City Hall, located at 5801 Cavendish Boulevard.

The event will commemorate the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence and recognize the contributions of the Filipino community to the city’s success and vitality.

On May 11, 2026, Côte Saint-Luc City Council unanimously adopted a resolution formally declaring that every June will be recognized as Filipino Heritage Month in Côte Saint-Luc. The resolution acknowledges the contributions of Filipino residents to the municipality’s growth and well-being and aligns with Canada’s 2018 federal declaration recognizing June as Filipino Heritage Month across the country.

The public is welcome to attend this event on June 12 to help celebrate the culture, history, and contributions of Filipino residents. The event will include remarks from dignitaries and community leaders, as well as a photo opportunity. The program will conclude by 5pm.

QUOTATIONS

“I was proud to formally move the resolution at our City Council meeting to recognize Filipino Heritage Month in Côte Saint-Luc. The values, hard work, and community-mindedness of the Filipino community are an asset to our community and to our country.” — Mayor David Tordjman
