Power Upgrade Coming to Côte Saint-Luc

Hydro-Québec is upgrading the electrical system in our area to meet growing energy needs. This project will bring more reliable power and fewer outages. The projected timeline for the work in Côte Saint-Luc is 2026 to 2029.

While the high-voltage lines will remain above ground, improvements include a new enclosed state substation further away from the surrounding homes, fewer pylons in Côte Saint-Luc (reduced from 16 to 9) with better placement to reduce visual impact, higher wires, and the pushing back of the lines away from the backyards of properties along Krieghoff Ave., Brandeis Ave. and Marc Chagall Ave.

The Côte Saint-Luc portion of the project is scheduled to take place in phase 1 and includes the replacement of the 120‑kV line with a 315‑kV line between substation in Saint‑Laurent and the substation in Côte‑Saint‑Luc, as well as the construction of the 315/25‑kV Côte‑Saint‑Luc substation (2026 to 2029).

Residents and elected municipal officials have been calling for the best possible solution since 2018, and now you have the opportunity to have your say at the BAPE information session.
