Côte Saint‑Luc, July 16, 2025 – The City of Côte Saint‑Luc is inviting youth aged 17 and under to take advantage of a special offer: a free one-year membership to the Côte Saint‑Luc Tennis Club, including one complimentary lesson with Head Pro Peter Wainberg.
This limited-time offer is open exclusively to Côte Saint‑Luc residents and is valued at $90. It provides young people the opportunity to discover tennis in a friendly, supportive environment. Adults accompanying a youth participant are eligible for a reduced hourly rate.
“Tennis is a lifelong sport that promotes physical health, concentration, and resilience,” said Mayor Mitchell Brownstein. “We’re proud to make it more accessible to our youth and help nurture the next generation of players right here in Côte Saint‑Luc.”
Youth interest in tennis is growing rapidly across Canada. According to a January 2024 report from Tennis Canada, participation among children aged 6 to 17 increased by 11 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year, helping drive total national participation to nearly 5 million players.
“Programs like this are how we build a future where young people stay active and connect with their community,” said Councillor Andee Shuster, who holds the Recreation portfolio. “Whether they become competitive players or just find joy in a new hobby, we want to create an inclusive environment where every child feels welcome on the courts.”
The Côte Saint‑Luc Tennis Club features nine professionally maintained Har‑Tru clay courts, an outdoor saltwater pool, a patio with tables and chairs, and a clubhouse. The club also offers lessons from certified tennis professionals. It is open from 8am to 10pm on weekdays.
