The City of Côte Saint-Luc is committed to keeping residents informed about the ongoing snow clearing efforts following the historic snowfall of over 70 cm in just four days. This record-breaking storm has significantly impacted our ability to clear streets and sidewalks as quickly as we normally would.
What’s Happening?
- City crews have been working tirelessly, seven days a week, and have made great progress in clearing the areas assigned to them. By the end of today, they are expected to have completed their portion of the work.
- Contracted services responsible for clearing major streets and additional residential roads have not met our expectations. As of today, only about 60% of their assigned streets have been completed. The City is holding them accountable for this delay.
What Are We Doing About It?
- To help address the delays, City staff have stepped in where possible to assist in clearing priority areas.
- The contractor has been put on notice, and they are responsible for covering any additional costs incurred due to their delays.
- Our goal is to have all streets and sidewalks cleared by Tuesday, February 25. If the contractor does not complete their work, City crews will step in to finish the job when they return on Monday.
