The City of Côte Saint-Luc is shocked by the tragic incident that occurred on Saturday, May 10, in which a tree branch struck a person near the intersection of Queen Mary Road and Macdonald Avenue.
Côte Saint-Luc EMS first responders arrived quickly on scene, and the individual was transported to hospital by Urgences-Santé. This is a shocking and rare tragedy and Côte Saint-Luc will be conducting a full investigation to determine what happened.
As of this afternoon, the sidewalk at the site remains closed and Public Security is on-site to ensure no one walks beneath the tree while our arborist conducts a full evaluation. Once the arborist’s assessment is complete and any necessary pruning is performed, the area will be fully reopened.
