Following the recent snowstorms, some sidewalks remain impassable. While efforts to clear them are ongoing, we urge the public to minimize walking in areas where sidewalks have not yet been fully plowed. Walking on the street poses risks, particularly in the evening and during conditions when drivers need extra time to stop on snow-covered roads.
If walking on the street is unavoidable, please exercise extreme caution and walk against the flow of traffic to increase visibility and safety. Please consider wearing bright, reflective clothing or carrying illuminated objects designed to help pedestrians be more visible.
To motorists, we ask that you slow down and remain extra vigilant in areas where pedestrians are on the roadway, especially in winter conditions. Please pay close attention and slow down around bus stops and road crossings where pedestrians are more likely to be present, as well as around snow banks.
Snow clearing operations continue on secondary streets and tertiary streets. We appreciate your patience as we work to restore sidewalks and roadways to normal conditions over the next few days. Please allow our crews the time and space needed to complete these operations safely.
Thank you for your cooperation. Stay safe!
