[Update at 5:30pm] Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club – Temporary Closure

This post is archived and may contain outdated information.

Following recent media reports about the possible presence of asbestos in Har-Tru, a material used to maintain clay tennis courts in several Quebec municipalities, the City of Côte Saint-Luc took proactive measures to have our courts tested by a specialized firm.

We received the initial results this afternoon (August 15, 2025). While the findings are not yet conclusive and further testing is required, the firm conducting the analysis recommended temporarily closing the Tennis Club. As the safety of our patrons and staff is always our first priority, we are closing the facility as a precautionary measure and are looking at different ways to accommodate our tennis players in the interim.

Currently, thirty-two other court facilities on the island of Montreal are unfortunately closed due to similar circumstances.  We are working closely with experts to carry out the necessary follow-up tests as efficiently as possible. We thank you for your patience and we will provide further updates as soon as more information is available.
