The City of Montreal will be doing work on its water network on Monday, May 26, which may cause a slight drop in water pressure in some areas of Côte Saint-Luc between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
If you live above the fifth floor of an apartment building, you may experience very low water pressure during these hours if your building does not have a pump capable of maintaining water flow to the upper floors during pressure drops. Some buildings are equipped with such pumps, while others are not. If you’re unsure whether your building has one, speak with your landlord or concierge. We recommend filling bottles and pots with water the night before to ensure you have enough for the day.
Residents in single-family homes or duplexes are unlikely to notice a significant change, but we ask that you help conserve water by not using lawn sprinklers and, if possible, delaying use of washing machines. This will help ensure better water pressure for residents living in high-rise buildings.
After the work is completed, you may notice that your tap water is temporarily discoloured. If this happens, simply let the cold water run until it becomes clear.
