Côte Saint-Luc Day Camp is not responsible for any items a child loses at camp. Please leave all valuables at home including electronic devices such as iPods, cell phones, gaming systems and digital cameras.
Your child’s safety is very important to us.
Children who are authorized to leave camp without a parent or guardian must have a specific form filled out and/or written permission which will be given to the Park Leader.
With written permission, the CITs are allowed to sign in and out on their own. We will follow up with a phone call if an expected CIT has not arrived at camp.
If a camper has one or more of the following symptoms, they will not be allowed to stay at camp:
- A temperature above 38˚C
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- Paleness, blotchiness, rash or physical pain
We will inform you of any changes in your child’s health during their stay at camp. If they are showing any of the symptoms mentioned above, you will be required to promptly come pick them up.
If, during the camp day, it is discovered that a child has lice or other contagious illnesses, parents will be asked to pick up their child as soon as possible. To prevent it from spreading at camp, parents must follow the treatment recommendations before their child can return to camp. We can turn the camper away if there is any evidence of lice, nits or worms, even after treatment.
Lost and found items will be kept at camp only for the summer season in which they were lost. A designated bin for lost and found items will be available at the park leader’s desk. During drop-off and pick-up, the park leader will bring the bin outside for parents to review. To help ensure items are returned, we strongly recommend labeling your child’s belongings. Additionally, we kindly ask that valuables and electronics not be brought to camp.
The Côte Saint-Luc Day Camp staff members are chosen for their (capacity) for strong leadership skills and the ability to care for their campers. We carefully select staff members for their interest in working with children and their camping and recreation experience. All our senior counsellors are over 18 years of age. Our staff members know the importance of a safe environment, and how to make things fun and challenging. Our team receives more than 40 hours of training, which teaches them the personal skills and knowledge they need to make sure your child’s experience is positive, safe and fun. All CSL Day Camp staff members hold a valid standard first aid & CPR certificate and are subject to a background check.
Before camp begins, we will be hosting a Day Camp Parent Night, which you will be notified by email. We encourage parents to also meet the camp team during drop-off or pick-up throughout the summer. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to reach out to the Day Camp management team via email at [email protected]. We’ll be sending out regular newsletters and updates to keep parents informed about upcoming activities and important camp news throughout the summer.
Please ensure your child comes to camp with at least two snacks and a hearty lunch to ensure that they are fueled for the day! When you plan your child’s lunch, please keep in mind that there are no refrigerators or microwave ovens at camp. Ice packs are recommended. As a public facility, we can not guarantee a nut-free environment, but we strongly encourage this restriction.
The best way to ensure children are protected from the sun is teaching them how to apply sunscreen and to always wear a hat when outdoors. Make sure you apply sunscreen to your children each day before arriving at camp. Please send sunscreen labelled with your child’s name to camp and the staff will remind them to reapply throughout the day and after water-related activities.
*Note: sunscreen cannot be shared amongst campers / siblings.

Why send your child to camp?
The school year is quickly advancing, and the beginning of summer vacation is close by! If this time of year rhymes with quality time with family and friends and outdoor activities, it also comes with a certain stress to keep children occupied for a few weeks. Why not give them the opportunity to take part in an adventure and participate in extraordinary activities by sending them to camp?
Here are four reasons why you cannot let this idea slip away!
1. To develop co-habitation and interpersonal skills
Taking part in a camp adventure also means having the opportunity to live unforgettable experiences with other children, from near and far, and to create new friendships. Sports and cultural activities as well as group games and free time will allow them to develop their skills to communicate, collaborate and manage conflict skills. that they will need and cherish throughout their entire life!
2. To develop autonomy and self-confidence
No matter what type of camp or program, children will progress and will most definitely gain confidence. Seeing as they will have to face situations that will lead them to react independently and have them develop their capacity to quickly think and react, children will undoubtedly learn to become autonomous and will gain a certain sense of maturity. There is no doubt that they will be fascinated when they return home and that they will be proud to share with you all that they have learned and lived throughout their days!
3. To develop an interest towards physical activity and healthy lifestyle
In today’s world, technology surrounds us everywhere, leaving kids usually lacking in physical activities. A day camp gives children the opportunity to discover a multitude of new and different activities such as animation games, art, sports, dance, improv and much more! They will surely be able to discover one or more activities to suit their needs and interests while staying active and moving. Embracing physical literacy and healthy habits will not only keep them energized throughout the day but also bring positive psychological and physical benefits.
4. To develop environmental awareness
Spending time at day camp allows children to build meaningful connections with others, helping to strengthen their social skills. These valuable moments in nature also play a significant role in a child’s development and environmental awareness. Being outdoors helps children appreciate the beauty and importance of nature, while giving them the benefits of fresh air and sunlight. These moments foster a positive outlook, encouraging them to enjoy outdoor play and cultivate a desire to protect the environment. By immersing them in nature, we inspire kids to adopt positive attitudes and behaviors towards environmental conservation.
By sending your child to camp, you are giving them the opportunity to live a unique and rewarding experience that promotes their development and allows them to grow!
