Urban greening

Community gardens

In addition to bringing people together, community gardens are great for the environment. Why? Because food grown locally reduces green house gases produced by long-distance food transportation. Gardens also contribute to biodiversity and help to support populations of pollinators.

Join one of Côte Saint-Luc’s three community gardens: Seniors garden, Kirwan and Schwartz. For more information, contact Anisa Cameron at [email protected] or 514-485-6806 ext. 2221.

We also give away compost in May and in October, and tomato plants in the spring, to help residents get their private or community garden started.
