The City of Côte Saint-Luc is a dynamic municipality on the island of Montreal with a population of approximately 35 000. The city prides itself on being able to offer a very high level of service to its residents at a reasonable cost. We are currently looking to hire a Human Resources Technician.

Role: The work consists of performing various technical and administrative support tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of human resources activities.

Examples of completed tasks:

  • Verify and update all documents and information received and ensures their integration into the relevant files or registers; forward copies to individuals concerned, if necessary.
  • Follow up on files on occupational health and safety, training or any other area of human resource activities.
  • Collect information by researching documents, interviews, consulting statistical data, telephone exchanges, etc. Analyze and organize the information obtained.
  • Collect, compile and consolidate data and statistics required for human resource management or for the management of institutional programs (preparation for retirement, reception and recognition, literacy, etc.)
  • Analyze personnel movement requests for compliance with administrative directives and collective agreements. Makes the necessary corrections.
  • Respond to requests from employees of various departments regarding their compensation (working conditions and benefits, statutory increases, absences, and departures, etc.) and conducts the necessary discussions with institutional representatives.
  • Prepare draft job position notices and other notices; forward approved notices for publication; ensure compliance of tests.
  • Verify the eligibility of candidates based on the relevant frameworks. Submit, when applicable, proposals for recognition of equivalence of the required training or experience.
  • Draft correspondence and reports required in the performance of duties.
  • May use a variety of office equipment to perform job-related tasks, using proper software.
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Qualifications and education:

  • College diploma in administration, human resources management option or equivalent.
  • Bilingual spoken and written
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and knowledge of Office Suite
  • Knowledge of collective agreements used
  • Autonomy, initiative, organizational capabilities, oral and written communication, interpersonal relationships, courtesy, analysis and judgement, sense of research, precise and conscientious and customer service oriented.

Salary and benefits: per the collective agreement for unionized employees: $53,073.24 

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
