As of Tuesday, June 30 at 8am, Côte Saint-Luc EMS is back in operation. We are following new guidelines from the Ministère de la Santé, to ensure that first responders and patients are safe.
For now, EMS will be responding to the most critical calls. It will eventually expand to the less critical calls.
Côte Saint-Luc EMS is a unique service that provides 24/7 emergency response to the population of Côte Saint-Luc. The primary function of EMS is to provide first response for life-threatening or serious medical emergencies received through the 9-1-1 system.
EMS arrives in the first crucial moments, equipped with an external automated defibrillator (AED), oxygen and airway management supplies, spinal immobilisation equipment, trauma supplies and certain emergency medications. In addition to responding to medical calls, EMS also responds to certain fire calls within the city and is on scene at major events to provide rapid medical treatment to those in need.
The Côte Saint-Luc Emergency Medical Services and Montreal Fire Department (SIM) first responders had to pause their first responder operations on March 30 following a decision by Urgences-santé and the Quebec Ministry of Health.
