Request a birthday or anniversary greeting from the mayor
If you or a loved one is celebrating a special birthday, wedding anniversary, or other important occasion, you may request a congratulatory greeting from the Mayor for the occasion. To request a personalized greeting, complete the online form or call the Communications Department at 514-485-6800, ext. 1801.
For birthdays, congratulatory greetings are available for 65th birthdays and up at 5-year intervals (70th, 75th, 80th, etc.)
For weddings, congratulatory greetings are available for 25th anniversaries and up at 5-year intervals (30th, 35th, 40th, etc.).

Request a greeting from the Governor General and His Majesty the King
The Governor General
The Governor General sends birthday greetings to Canadians who are 90 years of age or older and to couples who are celebrating an anniversary of 50 years or more.
If the anniversary or birthday has already taken place, the message from the Governor General may be backdated up to 12 months.
The King
His Majesty the King sends birthday greetings to Canadians who are 100 years of age or older and to couples who are celebrating an anniversary of 60 years or more.
If the anniversary or birthday has already taken place, the message from The King may be backdated up to 6 months.

Request a greeting from The Prime Minister of Canada
On request, the Prime Minister sends congratulatory certificates to Canadians celebrating significant birthdays.
Birthday congratulatory certificates are available for:
- 65th birthdays and up (at 5-year intervals) (70th, 75th, 80th, etc.)
- 100th birthdays and up (100th, 101th, 102th, etc.)
On request, the Prime Minister sends congratulatory certificates to Canadians celebrating significant wedding or life together anniversaries. Congratulatory certificates are available for:
- 25th wedding anniversaries and up at 5-year intervals (30th, 35th, 40th, etc.)
Allow 6 weeks’ notice for delivery.

Request a greeting from The Premier of Quebec
The Premier sends congratulatory certificates upon request to Quebec residents celebrating birthdays of 50 years and multiples of 5 years thereafter, and to couples celebrating 25 years and multiples of 5 years thereafter of marriage. He also agreed to honour the release of members of the Canadian Forces. Allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.
