Fire Department

For years, the Police Department assumed firefighting duties in the City of Côte Saint-Luc. In 1972, when the Montreal Urban Community was formed, police relinquished their firefighting duties, and the City of Côte Saint-Luc formed their fire department.

When all of the fire departments on the Island of Montreal were amalgamated on January 1, 2002, the Montreal Fire Department took over firefighting responsibilities in Côte Saint-Luc.

Fire suppression

Côte Saint-Luc’s fire station became Station 78 of the Montreal Fire Department and is responsible for fire suppression, which includes fighting fires, protecting life and property and other emergency assistance.

For all emergencies, call 9-1-1.

Fire prevention

Fire prevention services for Côte Saint-Luc are now run from Station 65 in Lasalle , which includes building inspections to ensure compliance with fire regulations, prevention and public education.
