Prior to 1972, Côte Saint-Luc had its own police department. When the Montreal Urban Community was formed that year, it created a regional police department, responsible for the entire Island of Montreal.
Côte Saint-Luc is home to the Montreal Police Department Neighbourhood Station 9 , located on Westminster Ave., at the corner of Côte Saint-Luc Rd.
This station serves the City of Côte Saint-Luc, the Town of Hampstead and the Town of Montreal West.
