Flower giveaway on Sunday, July 12

This post is archived and may contain outdated information.

The City of Côte Saint-Luc will be giving away flowers to residents on a first come, first served basis on Sunday, July 12, between 10 am and 4 pm (on until supplies last) at the Public Works Yard (7001 Mackle). To respect physical distrancing guidelines, the distribution will be set-up as a drive-through. Residents will not have to get out of their car and are asked to wear a face mask or a face shield when speaking to the staff.

The free giveaway is due to the fact that  because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the fact that we have not hired seasonal workers, we are left with more flowers than we are now able to plant. While our permanent staff is working hard to plant as many flowers as possible, they will not be able to plant all of them. So to avoid wasting all these flowers, we are giving them away approximately 700 plants to residents.

Each resident must show a proof of residency and will receive either a one gallon pot with an annual plant or one tray of annuals. We will not be offering residents a choice. A staff person will place the flowers directly in the trunk of your car.

Côte Saint-Luc ordered its plants in December 2019, several months before the start of the pandemic.
