Merchant of the month: Nettoyeurs Lustre-Tone

The Côte Saint-Luc Local Commerce Committee is pleased to recognize Nettoyeurs Lustre-Tone for the month of August 2023.

Nettoyeurs Lustre-Tone, located at the corner of Côte Saint-Luc and Westminster Avenues, has been providing excellent dry cleaning services to over 500 customers from Côte Saint-Luc and throughout the Island of Montreal.

On January 1, 1999, Je Soon Lee Kim and Pyung Jib Kim bought the dry cleaner and are excited to celebrate their 25th anniversary next year. The business had originally opened in the 1960s and is believed to be the first dry cleaner in Côte Saint-Luc. The previous owners are among their current customers.

Mr. Kim is especially proud that regular customers have been loyal for years. “Our customers continue coming to Nettoyeurs Lustre-Tone even after moving out of Côte Saint-Luc, with some coming from downtown, the West Island or East End,” he said.

According to Mrs. Kim, the busiest times of the year are usually spring and autumn, especially around the holidays. The most common items brought to their dry cleaners are shirts and pants but they also offer specialty services such as boots, carpets, silk items and even wedding dresses. Over the years, they have seen shifts in styles of formal and office wear.

Côte Saint-Luc District 4 Councillor Steven Erdelyi believes that Nettoyeurs Lustre-Tone is a perfect example for all merchants. “Mr. and Mrs. Kim always pay attention to details as they continue to offer their customers the highest quality of service. I’m also proud to be a happy customer myself for nearly 20 years,” he said.

Je Soon Lee Kim and Pyung Jib Kim not only have their business in Côte Saint-Luc District 4, but they also live in the district.

“The thing I enjoy the most is meeting and helping our customers who are very kind,” said Je Soon Lee Kim, a sentiment that is shared by her husband.
