Merchant of the month: Nosherz

The Côte Saint-Luc Local Commerce Committee is pleased to recognize Nosherz, owned by Robert Vinberg.

Located at the corner of Westminster and Mackle, Nosherz offers a wide variety of homemade baked goods, gourmet prêt-à-manger meals, delicious comfort food, soups, sandwiches, salads, fresh deli, holiday specialties and more. Vineberg assumed ownership of the iconic spot in 2007 when it was known as Solly The Baker. He later changed the name to Nosherz “because everyone loves to Nosh.”

Vineberg graduated from Concordia with a BA in Health Sciences and MA in Business Administration. “I could not decide between becoming a doctor or a lawyer,” he recalls. “I ended up as a baker because I like to eat.”

Vineberg also operates two other businesses, Puzzle Depot and Jigsaw Jungle. He and his wife Jodi are the parents of four young children. At the store he wishes to thank his dedicated staff members: Sandra, Elena, Malen, Julissa, Agnes, Ally, Juwon, Priscilla and Melissa. He also gives a special mention to his sister Sharyn Hoppenheim who is ever so present during busy periods.

“Robert and Nosherz are an integral part of our community,” says Côte Saint-Luc City Councillor for District 5 Mitch Kujavsky. “Nosherz sits in a spot that has housed a bakery for 50 years. The difference is that under Robert, the store has vastly expanded its list of food items well beyond any of its predecessors.”

Visit www.nosherz.com to place a curbside take-out order or a delivery order. You can also call 514-484-0445 or e-mail [email protected] The store is open seven days a week.
