New rules regarding smoking tobacco, e-cigarettes, and consuming cannabis will come into effect in Côte Saint-Luc on August 28, 2019.
The new rules contained in By-law 2374 make it a violation to consume cannabis in the same places as it is a violation to smoke tobacco or e-cigarettes. The new rules expand the list of places where this activity is prohibited to include all areas of parks, greenspaces, municipal dog runs, community gardens, and outdoor pools.
In the previous version of the By-law, smoking was prohibited only within 20 meters of playgrounds, splash pads, and sports activities, and during special events at parks.
The City Council adopted the amendments to By-law 2374 at the City Council meeting of August 12, 2019.
Here is a table showing the changes between the previous version of By-law 2374 and the new version of By-law 2374.
