Gymnasium

The Côte Saint-Luc Gymnasium is home to a multitude of activities for people of all ages. Programs include drop-in pickleball, soccer, badminton, and basketball- as well as family gym time. Recreational league play, sports tournaments and a variety of special events take place inside the gymnasium. Both the gym and adjacent activity room are available to rent for birthday parties through REC on Demand ([email protected]).

Please bring your own equipment: balls (basketball & soccer), racket & balls (pickleball), racket & birdies (badminton)

Admission fee

  1. Sports drop-in: $7/person/hour. Free for Fun Card holders. Presentation of Fun Card is required.
  2. Pickleball : $7/person/hour. Free for Fun Card holders. Presentation of Fun Card is required.
  3. Max capacity: 20 per half gym.

Rules

  • No outdoor shoes, please remove your boots.
  • Violence, intimidation, rudeness of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Respect all rules set by the city while on the premises.
  • Respect for staff and following staff instructions is mandatory
  • Failure to follow these rules will result in immediate expulsion from the premises.
  • Any form of abuse towards staff (no matter the reason) will result in permanent expulsion from all Côte Saint-Luc programs.

Pickleball

  • Wear suitable clothes and shoes on the courts.
  • The City is not responsible for lost or misplaced items on or around the facility.

Etiquette

  • Have fun and enjoy the game!
  • Follow rules for a safe and fair experience. Ignoring rules may lead to expulsion.
  • For help enforcing rules, talk to an attendant or Recreation staff.
  • Drop-in play is first-come, first-play for everyone.
  • Put your paddle in the rack and wait for your turn.
  • Use just one paddle per player. No holding spots.
  • If the courts are full, only doubles are allowed.
  • Remain in the spectator area while waiting to play.
  • Monopolizing courts or excluding others from joining is not permitted.
  • A game is won by being the first player to win 11 points, and be at least 2 points ahead of opponent.
  • You can switch courts to find a game that matches your skill.
  • Please follow the instructions of City attendants or volunteers.
  • Abusive language or behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • At the end of each game, tap paddles and say “good game!”

How to Use the Rack & Respect the Rotation

Rack Basics:

  • The paddle rack has 4 slots per colour.
  • Each colour = 1 doubles game.
  • Place your paddle at the end of the line, left to right.
  • If the rack is full on the right, wrap around to the far left to continue adding paddles.

Next Game Indicator:

  • The sliding ball on the cable shows which game is up next.
  • It moves left to right, then wraps back to the far left when it reaches the end.

Player Guidelines:

  • Single Players:
    • Look for an open slot in a partially filled game, or place your paddle at the end of the line.
  • Groups of 2 or 3:
    • Join a game with enough available slots, or place your paddles at the end of the line.
  • Groups of 4:
    • If you do not wish to split up, you may skip over empty slots ahead and place your paddles in the next full set of 4 same-colour slots.
    • Players coming off courts or just arriving may fill open slots ahead.

Important Etiquette:

  • Do not touch other players’ paddles.
  • Never shift or rearrange paddles in the rack.
  • Only move the “Next Game” ball – not the paddles.
  • When busy, please keep an eye on the rack so you’re ready when it’s your turn to play.
  • When your game ends and you tap paddles, call out loud: “Next game on court [1-6]!”
