From Saturday, January 9 to Monday, February 8, 2021, all indoor municipal facilities in the City of Côte Saint-Luc will be closed to the public, including City Hall, the public library, the Aquatic and Community Centre, and the Samuel Moskovitch Arena.
This announced closure follows the enactment of new rules by the Quebec government for a month-long lockdown.
Outdoor activities
Outdoor areas such as skating rinks and parks will remain accessible to the public. However, given that the new rules prohibiting team sports, we have cancelled scheduled hockey ice time at the Confederation Annex at Trudeau Park. Open-skate will continue at the Annex, but with a new reservation system, which will begin taking requests for ice time starting on Friday, January 8 at noon for the week beginning Monday, January 11.
Quebec rules permit outdoor physical activities only with members of your household. As the City does not have the personnel to monitor each of all outdoor skating rinks, we call on the goodwill of the public to respect the rules.
City business
Municipal buildings and offices will be closed to the public, however our staff will be responding to questions by telephone and e-mail. We also offer many online services, including construction permit applications, long-time and short-term on-street parking permits, online verification of property tax bills, and more. City Council meetings continue to be livestreamed over YouTube.
Virtual programming
The Côte Saint-Luc Public Library (www.csllibrary.org) and the Parks and Recreation Department (www.cotesaintluc.org/events) offer many virtual services delivered over Zoom, produce a daily 2pm call-to-listen program for those without computers, and have available an archive of past events and programming at YouTube (www.cotesaintluc.org/recvideos, www.cotesaintluc.org/libraryvideos).
Resources
In the coming weeks, the City of Côte Saint-Luc will make available a database of local organizations offering programming and support to the community. The database will include the types of programming offered. The goal is to make it easier for residents to find virtual programming that interests them.
