Dandelion Challenge

What is the Dandelion Challenge?

The Dandelion Challenge is the delaying the mowing of your lawn until early June to allow dandelions to grow.

Why Dandelions?

After the winter, dandelions are one of the most important sources of nectar and pollen for bees, butterflies and other pollinators in our ecosystem, which are under increasing threat.

By letting the dandelions grow a little longer we are giving pollinators a valuable helping hand.

Taking part in the Challenge

Côte Saint-Luc, like many other municipalities, has accepted to participate in the Dandelion Challenge and is encouraging its residents to do the same. That means we won’t be mowing the lawn of some municipal grounds and instead will be installing small lawn signs to help raise awareness.

If you wish to take part in the challenge, we can send you a sign for your lawn. Fill in the form below to request your sign.

Every dandelion helps!
